All Aurovine artists and fans will be pleased to know that some of us don’t just take it, wont take it……some people let it pass them by but others do actually make a stand and oppose what is wrong. Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich have been the latest in a growing line of music legends to take a stand against what is happening down at our ‘friends’ place at Spotify.
They have taken a stance that Spotify is not helping new music, they are taking the lions share of the revenue created and that it is unfair. Small independent labels and artists are struggling to make ends meet whilst, once again the same old industry figures are taking a stranglehold on delivery of music to market.
Comments made by Thom on Twitter emphasise his feelings on the subject:
“………make no mistake, new artists you find on Spotify will not get paid. meanwhile shareholders will be rolling in it. Simples.”
The very reason Aurovine came in to existence was to provide a way for new music to be heard and distributed fairly. Lets hope Thom gets in touch with his new album then…!!!!!!
